After consulting with administration and our bus drivers, Des Arc Schools will be in session tomorrow with a late start. School will begin at 10:00 a.m. and dismiss at the regular time.
Buses will run snow routes, which are outlined below. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these difficult decisions.
If a student is unable to attend school tomorrow, their absence will not count against their semester test. We recognize that snow- and ice-covered back roads may impact approximately 10–15% of our students. While we encourage attendance when possible, we fully respect parents’ decisions regarding road safety for their children.
Modified Bus Routes for Monday, February 2
⚠️ Cemetery Road by the football stadium is iced over. Please avoid traveling on this road in the morning.
Bus 16 – Mrs. Joanne
No pickup in Cotton Plant due to icy conditions and no safe alternate location.
Students from Cotton Plant and Sand Hill Road will meet at the Sand Hill Fire Station at 9:15 a.m.
All other stops will run on a two-hour delay (example: a 6:30 pickup will now be at 8:30).
Bus 21 – Northside Route – Mr. Singleton (sub)
Burrow Rd. riders: meet at Northside Fire Department at 8:50 a.m.
Raft Creek Rd. riders: meet at Hallaway Store at 8:55 a.m.
Bayou Loop, Blue Bird Ln., and Brown Acres Rd. riders: meet at Brown Acres & Hwy 11 at 9:00 a.m.
All remaining stops will run on a two-hour delay.
Bus 18 – Mrs. Kristen (Mr. Baker, sub)
Hwy 38 first stop: be ready at 8:15 a.m.
Newberry Rd. & W. Terry Ln.: meet at Hwy 38 turnoff at 8:30 a.m.
All other Hwy 38 pickups will run on a two-hour delay.
Bus 9 – Mr. Tim
Normal route with a two-hour delay.
Bus 15 – Ms. Sarah
