Child Find Outreach

Child Find Outreach

Des Arc School District is responsible for locating, identifying, and evaluating any children with known or suspected disabilities who reside within the school district’s boundaries to determine whether a need for special education and related services exists. We would like your assistance to make the public aware of the services Des Arc School District offers.

Children from ages 3 through 21 can be screened. All child find referrals are considered confidential and services are provided at no cost to the family.

If you know a child who has a disability or one you suspect may have difficulty with learning, communication, vision, hearing, behavior, or motor control and coordination, please contact the special education department or the early intervention agencies.

Early Childhood (Birth- 5 years)

Contact Arkansas First Connections (1-800-643-8258 or 501-682-8703) for assistance with children ages birth to 3 who may have disabilities. First Connections is the Arkansas Early Intervention Program for evaluation and services. Another contact for early childhood services is Wilbur D. Mills Education Service Cooperative at 501-882-5467.
